LAPD Arrests, Charges Driver Of Truck Involved In Monday’s Hit And Run Accident On NM 4

The Los Alamos Police Department has announced the arrest of Julian Lopez, 20, of Alcalde in connection with Monday’s hit and run crash involving two cyclists.

Lopez was booked into the Los Alamos Detention Center Wednesday and charged in Los Alamos Magistrate Court with accident involving death or personal injuries, immediate notice of accident and careless driving.

The accident occurred around noon on Monday on State Route 4 near mile marker 54. LAPD issued a request for assistance from the public in locating a white GM smaller style pickup truck with a single amber construction light affixed to the roof of the cab and damage to the hood. 

According to LAPD Cmdr. Oliver Morris, photos and video of the vehicle leaving the area of the accident were captured by Los Alamos National Laboratory. LAPD officers contacted the company that owned the vehicle and obtained the identity of the driver.
