The Los Alamos Reporter has been contacted by several people in the community about the C-130 plane that circled Los Alamos for about an hour Thursday evening. Sources have confirmed that the plane was on U.S. Air Forces exercises from Cannon Air Force Base and flew outside the Los Alamos National Laboratory’s restricted air space.
Cannon AFB, home of the 27th Special Operations Wing, is eight miles east of Clovis. The MC-130J Commando II flies clandestine or low visibility low-level air refueling missions primarily at night, according to the Air Force.
