County: Customer Care Representatives Available For Limited In-Person Business

COUNTY NEWS

While Los Alamos residents can conduct most county business with the Customer Care Center via phone or email from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the work week, limited in-person transactions will now be possible. Starting Monday, Apr. 5, a Customer Care representative will open one window in the Municipal Lobby between the hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Due to this change in operation, lemon lot permits will be processed in person only at the Municipal Building and Customer Care representatives will resume the collection of the associated fee ($10) for the inspection of documents and issuance of permits.

Officials with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) thank the community for its support and flexibility in working with the Customer Care Center remotely. To sustain the momentum achieved in reducing the spread of COVID-19, DPU requests citizens to consider continuing to conduct business with the county over the phone or email as much as possible and save in-person visits for when it is necessary.

Managing account information, accessing past and present utility bills, viewing payment history, and making payments online can be accomplished through the Utilities Self-Service Portal, a free cloud-based portal offered online by the department’s billing software vendor. Information on how to register and set up a secure profile link is posted on DPU’s website at: https://ladpu.com/Utilities-Portal.  Of course, customers can continue to pay bills through the mail or utilize the payment drop box conveniently located in the Municipal Building parking lot and lobby.

Customer Care representatives can be reached by phone at 505.662.8333 or by email CustomerCare@lacnm.us.  Offices are located in the lobby of the Municipal Building located at 1000 Central Avenue, Los Alamos, NM.
