League Of Women Voters Lunch With A Leader Mar. 18 Features Richard Skolnik And Thomas Massaro On COVID-19

On Thursday, Mar. 18, at noon during their Lunch with a Leader program, the League of Women Voters will host Richard Skolnik and Thomas Massaro who will talk about COVID-19.  Massaro will discuss and answer questions about different aspects of COVID, how it can affect children, and the safe return to school as well as an update on the virus in New Mexico and how we are doing winning the fight. Skolnik will present information on the virus from a world vision and the path forward to stop this pandemic.

Thomas Massaro M.D. PhD, is a State School Health Officer whose speciality is pediatrics.He works with the NM Public Education Department as well as maintaining a private practice as a pediatrician in Santa Fe. He will be ready to answer all the questions you have about COVID.

Richard Skolnik has more than 40 years of experience in international development and Global Health. He spent 25 years at the World Bank and later became Vice President for International Programs  and the Director of the Center for Global Health at The George Washington University, where he taught undergraduate global health courses for eight years. He also served for two years as the Executive Director of the Harvard  program for AIDS and was deeply involved in the establishment of STOP TB. Skolnik also carried out substantial work with the Results for Development Institute (R4D), focusing on reviews of the financing of HIV and served on the editorial advisory body for the Third Edition of Disease Control Priorities in the Developing World (DCP3) and the third edition of Millions Saved
