Topper Library Collects Donations For Local Animal Shelters

LAHS NEWS

The Topper Library is asking the community to show love to the many lonely cats and dogs by dropping off donations for local animal shelters March 15 – 19. Items such as dog and cat food, treats, toys, leashes, towels and blankets may be dropped off at the Los Alamos High School Topper Library outdoor entrance between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. A list of needed items may be found here.

Topper library assistant Cami Heath is organizing this event. She decided to pursue this project after her cat of 10 years passed away. “I care a lot about keeping animals happy and safe,” she said. “It gets lonesome in times like these, but at least we have our family and pets. I can only imagine the loneliness the shelter animals feel, and so I want to help them.”

The donation drive will benefit these local shelters to receive collected items include:

● Los Alamos Animal Shelter (505) 662-8179

● Felines & Friends New Mexico (505) 316-2281

● Santa Fe Animal Shelter (505) 983-4309

Items collected will be delivered to their designated shelter at the end of the month. You may also make an online donation to Santa Fe Animal Shelter with their Amazon and Chewy wish lists.

The Topper Library extends thanks to everyone who makes a donation. If you need to schedule a drop off at another time, please contact Shannon Seitz at s.seitz@laschools.net
