Occupants Flee Vehicle Following Accident On Diamond Drive By LAFD Station 4

A vehicle traveling east on Diamond Drive ended up crashing into to a garage located at LAFD Station 4 Friday evening. The occupants of the vehicle fled the scene on foot and Los Alamos Police Department were reportedly working to locate the registered owner. Fire Department personnel within Station 4 heard the tires squeal on the pavement and on responding discovered gas was leaking due to a utilities boxes struck by the vehicle. LAPD and LAFD cordoned off Diamond Drive and Range Road until Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities personnel arrived to shut off the gas. As of 8:45 p.m., DPU crews were also working on electrical hazard because street lighting in the area was out. Check back with the Los Alamos Reporter Saturday for more details of the incident.
