Here’s a little description on what to expect during the Seed Swap this year, for those who have not participated before, as well as for those who need to know more about how observing the distancing works in this outdoor activity: —
1) There will be 4 tables set out in the breezeway of the Co-OP, spaced at least 6 feet apart. Each table will contain two or three boxes of seeds labeled by types, along with a box of supplies to put your seeds in and label them.
2) In addition to Co-op staff members who are helping out, there will be two volunteers per hour to help direct traffic and to help people find and drop off their seeds into the marked boxes. (Note: if you don’t have seeds to trade, don’t worry. We have more than enough to go around.)
3) All participants will wear masks. The volunteers will let only enough people into the area so that there are not more than two or three people per table. You can take your time and visit each table, but make sure that there are not already three people at the table you wish to visit. This is self-distancing.
4) Since the Seed Swap is from noon to 4 p.m. and the Co-Op’s Anniversary celebration (I hear there’ll be free cake!) is 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., you might want to visit twice to catch both events.
5) Be safe and have fun!
