As of Sunday, Los Alamos County has had some 7,618 people register to receive their COVID-19 vaccine. Los Alamos County Emergency Manager Beverley Simpson told the Los Alamos Reporter Monday that a total of 1,002 individuals have received their initial doses and 6,613 of those registered are awaiting their first shot.

Simpson said Los Alamos National Laboratory has administered 406 vaccines to date and is expecting 100 more doses this week. Los Alamos Medical Center had vaccinated 420 as of Jan. 17. Some 149 Los Alamos Public Schools staff members have received their first vaccination shot.

More than 203,000 vaccines have been administered statewide and almost 508,000 people have registered through the Department of Health website to be vaccinated.

The Los Alamos Reporter attended a Department of Health webinar for members of the media Friday which showcased the DOH dashboard for vaccination information at https://cvvaccine.nmhealth.org/public-dashboard.html. DOH staff answered many questions and referred media to answers to frequently asked question listed below.

In another webinar Monday morning, Dr. Tracie Collins, DOH Secretary-Designate, noted that County specific information on the number of vaccines administered will soon be reported on the state dashboard. She said currently some 7,000 people are receiving their first shot each day.

The information provided by DOH is as follows:
