Editor’s Note: The County has added the following to the original news release:

If individuals have already registered, they do not need to register again with DOH. They will be notified by the State about participating in the vaccine clinics on Jan. 30 or 31

Los Alamos County, working in cooperation with the State’s Aging and Long-term Services Division, will host a special COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the two Los Alamos County Senior Centers on Jan. 30 and 31. In order to qualify for this clinic, participants must:

  • Be 75 years or older
  • Be pre-registered for the vaccine on the DOH website – appointment is REQUIRED – no walk ups without an appointment will be accommodated due to the limited amount of vaccine that will be provided specifically for those who have registered in advance
  • Be able to arrive at the vaccine clinic by vehicle – no walk ups, this will be a drive-through only clinic
  • Be able to complete a consent form prior to receiving the vaccine
  • Be able to remain on site in the vehicle 15 minutes after the vaccine injection, to be observed for any allergic reaction

The drive-through clinic for the Betty Ehart Senior Center in Los Alamos is set for Jan. 30; the White Rock clinic at their local senior center will be Jan. 31. No times have been assigned for the duration of the clinic; instead, participants will receive notice of their location and appointment time for the vaccine to be administered only after they have pre-registered. Those without computer access to register in advance should call the toll-free DOH number 1-855-600-3453, press option 0 for vaccine questions, and then option 4 for tech support to register.

Those participating or assisting seniors attending the clinic are required to wear a face covering. All participants will remain in their cars the entire duration of their appointment.

If individuals have already registered, they do not need to register again with DOH. They will be notified by the State about participating in the vaccine clinics on Jan. 30 or 31.
