County: Aquatic Center Closed For HVAC System Repairs

COUNTY NEWS

Starting Tuesday, Jan. 12, the Larry H. Walkup Aquatic Center will be closed for HVAC system repairs in order to maintain COVID-19 safety measures and state requirements. With the increased COVID-19 air circulation requirements, Aquatic Center staff have been closely monitoring the HVAC system to help ensure a safe environment for our swimmers. The air circulation requirements have moved past acceptable levels and require the facility to be closed for the safety of our patrons and staff. There is not an exact timeline as to when the work will be completed, as the parts have to be ordered directly from the factory, but the possible reopening date is scheduled for Feb. 1st.

Please refer to the Los Alamos Community Services, Aquatics website and the Los Alamos Community Services Facebook Page for the most up-to-date information. If you have any questions or concerns, please email the Recreation Division at lacrec@lacnm.us.
