The Los Alamos Ice Rink will open on Saturday, Dec. 26 as a “Close Contact Business” under the current Public Health Order (PHO). Los Alamos County Community Services Department (CSD) would like to thank Council Chair Sara Scott for her efforts in contacting the Governor’s office, supporting us to get the ice rink open. CSD would also like to thank other members of the public who also contacted the Governor’s office to support the opening of this important outdoor asset.
Community Skater Development sessions are available by reservation, with no more than 10 people per session. The Ice Rink’s holiday schedule will run Dec. 26– Jan. 3 with sessions available during the week. Starting Jan. 4, sessions will only be available on Saturdays and Sunday through the end of the season. Skater Development sessions include a brief skating lesson at the start of each session.
Reservations can be made one day in advance and will be limited to four individuals or one household if calling for a family larger than four. The Ice Rink is closed Dec. 25, therefore reservations for Dec. 26 can be made on Dec. 24. To make a reservation for a skate session, please call the Ice Rink between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at (505) 662-4500; voicemails will not be accepted as confirmed reservations.
Please note that locker rooms, concessions, skate sharpening, and water fountains will not be available. However, skate rentals and restrooms will be available.
