LANL Foundation 2021 Outreach Grants Application Goes Live Jan. 7 2021

LANL FOUNDATION NEWS

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Foundation is excited to announce a Save the Date for its competitive 2021 Outreach Grant application launch.

The Foundation’s upcoming Outreach Grant cycle is offered one time each year with up to $5,000 in available funding per proposal.  Applications can support programs- as well as operational funding towards organizational capacity-building.

LANL Foundation offers two types of Outreach Grants: 1.) Education Outreach Grants directly support public school children in grades K–12, and; 2.) Community Outreach Grants meet the Foundation’s mission and vision of innovative programming, collaboration and advocacy for lifelong learning.

Public school districts, educational institutions, IRS-qualified 501(c)(3) organizations, and Pueblo/Tribal communities serving one or more of the seven Northern New Mexico counties of Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe or Taos are eligible to apply.

In alignment with the LANL Foundation’s strategic plan, Education and Community Outreach Grant-funded programs, initiatives and organizations must address one or more of the following focus areas:

  • College, Career & Community Pathways
  • Community Capacity Building
  • Growing & Supporting Educational Leaders
  • Social-Emotional & Neurosequential Learning
  • STEAM

Within these 5 focus areas, grant proposals may serve the continuum of learners: ages pre-natal/Early Childhood through adult and lifelong learners. LANL Foundation also looks to fund advocacy initiatives bolstering any of these focus areas and learners of all ages.

In 2020, LANL Foundation awarded 65 Outreach Grants totaling more than $300,000 reflecting a deepened investment in New Mexico communities in this time of global crisis across a spectrum of organizations and projects.

The 2021 Outreach Grants application goes live January 7, 2021. More guidelines will also be available online in January. Virtual informational sessions will be offered in January and February with sign-up links provided on the website. The deadline to apply is February 22, 2021.
