Los Alamos County Community Services is pleased to announce that with the new public health order issued Nov. 30, that starting Dec. 2, the following facilities will reopen following the New Mexico Governor’s guidelines and criteria of “Red Level”.
– The Larry Walkup Aquatic Center – Patrons can call to reserve a lane one day in advance. Lap Swim reservations will be taken for the 50-meter pool, and warm water exercises for the therapy pool. Walk-in reservations will not be accepted, and swimmers must come work out ready, as locker rooms are still not available.
– Los Alamos Library System – Beginning Dec. 8, the library will resume computer use by advance reservation. Hours for both curbside pick-up and computer reservations will be changing to Tuesday – Friday from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Please note that there will be no curbside service Monday, Dec. 7.
– Los Alamos Golf Course – will begin its winter hours of operation and be open Dec. 4 – 6 with tee times available from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Tee times after 1 p.m. will be for 9-holes only. Beginning Dec. 7, the course will close for the remainder of the month. In January and February, there is a possibility of weekend play, but will be based on weather and course conditions. The Driving range will be accessible when the Golf Course is open.
The Golf Course Pro Shop will remain open at 25% capacity for your holiday and golfing supply needs, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
– Cultural Services
o The Fuller Lodge Art Center – starting Wednesday, will be open Mon. – Sat. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at a 25% capacity within the gallery and ceramic studio. All classroom spaces will remain closed.
o The Los Alamos Nature Center – will continue to offer curbside pick of items purchased from their gift shop. The museum itself will remain closed, per COVID-19 guidelines.
o Los Alamos History Museum – will remain closed through December. However, online orders will continue to be fulfilled via mail and deliveries. Limited staff will be available at the Municipal Building for Archives’.
