African Library Project
Children’s books are needed immediately for the African Library Project’s upcoming
shipment to Kenya.
Due to the pandemic and on site school attendance being in a state of flux, thrift shops being closed, and families staying home, book collecting in Los Alamos has come to a standstill. But books are still being shipped and the need for good condition, used children’s books couldn’t be greater!
Acceptable books are from reading levels preschool – grade 8. Of particular need are non-fiction books at the 4th-8th grade reading level, reference books, baby board books, and children’s science and nature books and magazines. We cannot use books on American history, religious books, or textbooks.
If you have books you would like to donate, they can be dropped off at my house in the labeled blue bin outside my front door at 926 Tewa Loop, Los Alamos
If you would like books picked up, please email me to schedule a contact-free time at firstname.lastname@example.org.
New books, especially those with African themes, can be ordered and shipped to me at the above address.
These books truly do make a difference and Africa’s children thank you!
