The University of New Mexico – Los Alamos announces the release of the Spring 2021 schedule of classes. The course schedule is now available online at https://losalamos.unm.edu/academics/class-schedule.html. Because of COVID-19 concerns, the majority of courses will be taught online, with some courses scheduled in a hybrid format where part of the course is taught online and part is taught on-campus, in person. There are a few courses scheduled to meet in-person for the duration of the course.
Registration opened on November 9 and courses for the Spring semester begin on Jan. 18, 2021.
“UNM-Los Alamos is known for providing high quality instruction and we continue to make that our priority. Enrollment was up in the Fall because students know that they can receive a good education at an affordable cost,” Kathryn Vigil, Director of Student Affairs, stated “We know that many of our current students chose to attend UNM-LA during the challenges with COVID and, with low tuition and scholarships, most have done so without any out of pocket tuition cost.”
Chancellor Cindy Rooney praised the UNM-LA faculty and staff for their “continued commitment to excellence by incorporating best practices in remote instruction and advising into their activities.”
Rooney continued, “Through increased availability of scholarships, a check-out program for computer laptops, and a dedicated staff member to assist students navigate online classes, the campus is committed to helping students pursue college opportunities.”
Students are encouraged to start the admission and registration process early.
