Family Strengths Network has been closed since mid-March, but have reintroduced access to our
lending libraries. Entry is limited to one individual adult at a time, no children please, and only after completion of a COVID screening questionnaire. Hours for access are currently Thursday through Saturday, 9:00 am to noon. We have three libraries, detailed below:
Beth Ladino Family Resource Library: featuring nearly 1500 titles on a variety of topics, our book and DVD resource library, is divided in to two sections. The first is the children’s resource section which contains books for babies to teens that address a variety of topics from potty training to grief and loss, sleep, trying new things, special needs and inclusion, and more. The second section of the resource library is for adults and covers a range of topics from parenting at different stages, to relationships, to cooking and crafting, and everything in between. Books are checked out for three weeks at a time.
Toy Lending Library & Literacy Backpack Program: featuring over 800 toys for a range of ages, our toy lending library is the perfect solution to a lack of space and increased boredom that too often happens with kids and toys – and also functions in supporting age-appropriate development and care. Most items are appropriate for children with a cognitive age of birth through 12 years; though a few items, such as board games, would be fun for older kids as well. We have a small selection of care items as well, such as pack & plays, booster seats, and stationary play centers. Our literacy backpack program features multiple themes, including a sensory friendly option, and contains at least one book title along with a hands-on manipulative that ties in to the book’s theme. We have even included a travel backpack which is customizable and perfect for occupying the kids on trips both near and far. These items are available for check out up to 2 weeks at a time, with no limit of how many items you can have at once.
Educational Resource Library: is our newest addition to the lending library family. This section features more than 60 resources such as non-fiction books and manipulatives to aide with your child’s learning experience at home. These items are also available for check out for up to 2 weeks at a time.
All of our libraries are ever-growing and changing. If you have a suggestion, or perhaps items that would be suitable additions to our libraries, we would love to hear from you! Check in with our staff if you have any specific needs or would like for us to hand-select items for no-contact pick-up during our regular business hours, otherwise come on in and browse yourself. All items undergo a rigorous sanitation process to ensure everyone’s health and safety.
