Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8874 and N3B-Los Alamos are teaming up for a drive-through food drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, Saturday VFW Post, 1793 Deacon Street.
The goal is to collect donations of groceries or money for LA Cares in preparation for the coming holiday season. N3B, the legacy waste contractor at Los Alamos National Laboratory will pitch in $1 for every pound of food donated up to 500 pounds, however the team is hoping to pass the 500 pounds.
Los Alamos Co-Op Market has donated hot dogs for the event and a free hot dog or hamburger and a soda will be given to anyone who comes through the drive-through area to make a contribution. Vehicles will be required to enter via Deacon Street and exit on to Trinity Drive. All COVID guidelines will be strictly adhered to during the event.
