Los Alamos Study Group To Hold Citizens Hearing Wednesday On LANL Expansion, Nuclear Weapons Manufacturing

The Los Alamos Study Group is holding an open-air citizens hearing on the planned expansion of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), including the new mission of industrial plutonium warhead core (“pit”) manufacturing, and alternatives for the region from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at the State Capitol in Santa Fe.

The hearing will be an outdoor, socially-distanced, masked, covid-safe event. Testimony will be recorded and provided to federal officials.

Founded in 1989, the Los Alamos Study Group seeks nuclear disarmament, environmental protection and enhancement, social justice, and economic sustainability.
