NMSP Seek Information On Case Involving Pedestrian Struck and Killed Monday On I-25 South Of Santa Fe

At about 8:50 a.m. Monday, the New Mexico State Police responded to a report of a male pedestrian found deceased on the right shoulder of Interstate 25, near milepost 275 south of Santa Fe.

Upon initial investigation of an eyewitness report, statements and evidence at the scene, the male pedestrian was walking south on Interstate 25 Sunday evening when he was struck by an unknown vehicle that also was traveling south on Interstate 25.

The vehicle left the scene.

The male pedestrian was identified as James Bonaventuro Quintana, 41, of Cochiti Pueblo. Quintana sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of Medical Investigator.  

This case remains under investigation by the New Mexico State Police with the assistance of the New Mexico State Police Crash Reconstruction Team and Aerial Drone Unit.
