Diamond Drive near the Golf Course

Construction activities continue near the golf course that may result in lane closures.

Lane Closure on Sherwood Blvd

Work continues for a water line tie-in and motorists may see a lane closure and flagging operations on Sherwood Blvd because of work on the Pinon Park Splash Pad project.

Pedestrian and ADA Accessibility Along Trinity Drive from Oppenheimer to 39th Street

GM Emulsions continues construction along Trinity Drive from Oppenheimer to 39th Street, to provide better accessibility by replacing curb and gutter as well as installing ADA compliant sidewalks. To perform this work safely, traffic along Trinity will be shifted around the work zone. Traffic control will include temporary shoulder closures and bicycle and pedestrian detours.

Traffic & Streets Division:

North Side of Trinity Dr – Sidewalk Replacements between Oppenheimer & Diamond

Over the next two months, sidewalks on the north side may be closed as County crews will be replacing sections of sidewalk from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.

Chamisa – Asphalt Patching

County crews will be working on Chamisa from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Thusday. Flagging operations will be in place.

Ponderosa Estates – Asphalt Patching

County crews will be working in Ponderosa Estates on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Thusday. Flagging operations will be in place.

Rose Street – Milling and Paving Operations

County crews will be working on a pavement preservation project on Rose on Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Dept. of Public Utilities:

Trinity east of Diamond – Water Line

Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. water crews will abandon a water line in the shoulder on the south side of Trinity Dr. between 39th and 36th Streets. Traffic control devices will be set up around the construction zone with minimal impacts to east bound traffic. 

Various locations in White Rock and Los Alamos townsite – Asphalt patches

GM Emulsion, under contract with the Department of Public Utilities, will patch asphalt at various locations and times throughout White Rock and the townsite where repairs to water lines occurred earlier in the summer. Work will begin Tuesday and continue through Friday.  Traffic control devices will be set up around the construction zones.

Trinity Drive at 15th Street Intersection – Utilities’ work

ABI Mechanical, under contract with Natural Grocers, will tie the new grocery store into the county’s water, natural gas and sewer systems on Trinity Drive and 15th Street.  Crews will be working in the road on Trinity at the 15th Street intersection between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  Various lane drops will occur at different times and affect traffic in the area.  The speed limits will be reduced

Other projects:

NM502 Roundabout Construction & Road work (State DOT, Star Paving)

No change from last week. NM 502 is now partially re-opened to through traffic. There is one lane open in each direction from Tewa Lp to DP Rd. Access to local streets from Tewa Lp to Arroyo Ln will still be provided.

Access to Central Ave and 4th St from NM 502 will be closed for the next 4 weeks for construction of the roundabout. Central Ave and 4th St can still be accessed via Knecht Street.

DP Rd (Work related to Canyon Walk Apts and The Bluffs)

Qualcon Builders, LLC – 120 DP Road Utility Infrastructure Replacement

Work continues to be delayed one more week. Construction is now tentatively set to start on Monday, Sept. 14th with the milling of the pavement surface. When work begins, portions of DP Road will be temporarily detoured or restricted to flagged/signaled to one-lane traffic for approximately an 8-week duration. One-lane traffic restrictions will occur only during business hours from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. The portions of DP Rd affected are between the edge of the 6th Street intersection with DP Road east to Fire Station #2 (132 DP Rd). Contractor will be working in the right-of-way to replace existing utilities with upgraded services related to the new Canyon Walk Apartments (under construction) and The Bluffs senior housing (soon to be constructed). Milling and paving operations followed by a detour shift to the north side of DP Rd can be expected with either electronic flagging or one-way access with flagger in place during the two month project.
