Los Alamos Family Council (LAFC) will be modifying the operating hours of the Youth Activity Centers (YAC) to better serve families during this unprecedented time of remote learning during the pandemic.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 31, and until further notice, the YAC will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays and noon to 6 p.m. Fridays.

During this time, the White Rock Youth Activity Center will be closed, enabling all staff to focus on supporting the extended hours offered at the Los Alamos facility.

LAFC endeavors to provide a safe place for students in grades 3rd through 8th grade and have made this schedule modification in order to be of greater use to families. Students who need to do homework will be provided the opportunity to do so at the YAC. If need is demonstrated, hours may be expanded further.

It is critical that interested families register their youth using the link on the YAC’s Facebook page (facebook.com/LosAlamosYAC). Spaces are limited due to the restrictions of COVID-19 Safe Practices.

There is no charge for use of the YAC.
