Pajarito Mountain Ski Area, along with Mountain Capital Partners and the Coleman Family Foundation are pleased to be funding a grant to support local restaurants in Los Alamos County. The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce and MainStreet will assist with the application process and distribution of funds.
The grant is aimed at helping local restaurants withstand the difficulties caused by public health restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Any restaurant located in Los Alamos County is eligible and encouraged to apply.
“Our local restaurants have struggled to remain open. In the uncertain economic environment that we are all living through, resources like this are so helpful to small businesses,” said Ryn Herrmann, Los Alamos Chamber Director. “It’s incredibly generous of Pajarito Mountain and the Coleman Family to offer this help to our restaurants.”
The fund, which totals almost $5,000, was a percentage of the annual pre-season pass sales, which was matched by the Coleman Family Foundation. “Pajarito has long been an integral part of the Los Alamos Community,” said Tom Long, General Manager at Pajarito Mountain. “It was important for us to find a way to support Los Alamos in a direct and meaningful way.”
To apply for the grant, email a one page request to Ryn Herrmann at ryn@losalamos.org. The request should include basic information about the restaurant, how the restaurant was impacted by the pandemic and how the funding will be spent. Include the restaurant name and address, along with the owner’s information. Application letters should be emailed by the end of day, Monday, August 31 to be considered. Awards will depend on the number of applicants.
