Spend at least $10 at a participating Central Park Square business and receive a $20 gift card to a local business
Central Park Square owner Philip Kunsberg is launching a program, “Shop Central Park Square,” to support his Central Park Square tenants. Anyone who spends at least $10 at a participating Central Park Square business is eligible to receive a $20 gift card for that business, or another located in Central Park Square.
The promotion is being coordinated with assistance from Los Alamos MainStreet and the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce, and complementing the existing Chamber Check promotion, “Shop, Snap and Save” with Chamber Check rewards.
“The promotional funds from the Central Park Square owner are being used to purchase gift cards directly at the Central Park Square businesses most deeply impacted by the pandemic and who continue to face restrictions on their normal operations,” said Lauren McDaniel, Director of Los Alamos MainStreet. “Purchasing these gift cards gives business owners an immediate infusion of cash, and at the same time will hopefully incentivize and reward the community for continuing to support these businesses. We applaud Philip for identifying creative ways to help his tenants during this difficult time.”
Here’s how to participate in the Shop Central Park Square promotion:
- Spend at least $10 at a participating Central Park Square business: Allure Hair Salon, Bankens Martial Arts, Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op, Bennett’s Fine Jewelry, Boese Brothers Brewpub, Dave’s Sports Barbershop, Don Taylor’s Photography, Origami, Pet Pangaea, Red Dragon Bowl (formerly China Moon), Rigoberto’s, Rose Chocolatier, Time Out Pizzeria, Upex.
- Bring your receipt to projectY cowork Los Alamos, 150 Central Park Square, Monday-Friday between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (with the exception of 12-1 p.m.) to claim your $20 gift card to a local Central Park Square business. Only one receipt is allowed per day, but there are no restrictions on the number of submissions per person/family. Additional gift cards will not be awarded based on higher receipt totals.
- Recipients will be able to choose the gift card of their choice, based on availability, on a first-come basis.
- The promotion will conclude once all gift cards have been awarded to local shoppers.
“Our local businesses have really struggled during the pandemic,” said Ryn Herrmann, Los Alamos Chamber Director. “We call on the community to support them, as they enhance the vitality of our town.”
The related promotion spearheaded by the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce encourages local shoppers to submit 5 recent receipts from any business in Los Alamos County, and they will be mailed a $10 Chamber Check, redeemable at dozens of local businesses. More details are available at www.LosAlamosChamber.com; the Chamber Check promotion runs until Sept. 7, or when promotional funds are expended.
In addition to the Shop Central Park Square promotion, Kunsberg has also sponsored the recent drive-in movies at Central Park Square, which has included a free pizza per registered car, from nearby Time Out Pizzeria. Additional movies and dates are still pending.
