Vice President
Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation
As school starts this year in the shadow of the continuing global pandemic, the teachers, administrators and students of the Los Alamos Public Schools need our support more than ever. To that end, I urge you to donate today to the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation. As a parent myself of two Los Alamos High School students, I understand well the concerns we all have as we enter the new school year.
Our teachers, administrators and students are all being asked to do things they have never done before. The teachers and staff are working tirelessly to develop the tools and plans to deliver the best education possible—and at the same time keep everyone healthy. They need our help to fund new training and certifications required to effectively deliver online education; new tools such as manipulative kits for kindergarteners to have at home; and support for the mental health and wellness of our students, teachers and staff during a time of social isolation.
I recognize of course, that I’m seeking your help during an incredibly challenging time for our nation, our state, and our communities. We are fortunate that our children are able to attend schools in the Los Alamos Public Schools system, one of the best in the state and the country.
I encourage all of us who benefit from having such great schools to please consider making a donation to the Foundation at www.lapsfoundation.com. And, further, for those of you as fortunate as I am to work at Los Alamos National Laboratory, please consider making a donation through the Laboratory’s Giving Tool—either one time or recurring. This has the added benefit of taking advantage of the generous matching funds from Triad, LLC.
I appreciate there is huge competition for all of our giving dollars, and so many important and worthwhile causes right now. But I hope you will consider making a donation to the Foundation today—even small gifts are important. We need to make sure that we do everything possible to enable student learning and wellness during this time of profound challenge.
Thanks for taking time to consider this plea, and feel free to reach out to the Foundation at www.lapsfoundation.com with any questions.
