COUNTY NEWS

The Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office would like to advise residents of a recent mailing of Absentee Ballot Applications by the Center for Voter Information (CVI), a national non-profit voter registration group, not affiliated with their office. The mailer, aimed at encouraging voters to send in an absentee ballot application, is legitimate. Voters, should they choose to do so, may complete and return the form to the County Clerk’s Office. However, completing this form is NOT required. Residents are encouraged to contact the Clerk’s Office with any questions regarding election related mail.

“My office has already received several inquiries about this mailer, so we felt it was important to clear up any confusion and alleviate any concerns among voters” said Los Alamos County Clerk Naomi Maestas. “This mailing is legitimate, and voters may choose to utilize the form provided, however, you are not required to do so,” adds Clerk Maestas.

Voters wishing to Vote-From-Home, must submit an application to the Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office. Absentee ballots will begin to be mailed out on Tuesday, October 6th.
