The Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration’s Los Alamos Field Office (DOE/NNSA) has issued a categorical exclusion for the Tracking Aerosol Convection Interactions Experiment (TRACER) Project.

The project is a collaboration between the DOE Office of Science, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Southern Great Plains Atmospheric Radiation Measurement Research Facility, and the University of Houston. Temporary, mobile facilities will be deployed for one-year at three previously disturbed sites in Harris, Brazoria, and Fort Bend counties in Texas.

The mobile facilities will collect data required to improve computer model capabilities to predict worldwide climatic and atmospheric conditions.

The categorical exclusion can be accessed online at https://www.energy.gov/nepa/downloads/cx-270533-tracking-aerosol-convection-interactions-experiment-tracer.
