Today, Saturday, August 1, the Los Alamos High School Hilltalkers Speech and Debate team will be conducting a collection for the senior citizens of Los Alamos. The Hilltalkers will be stationed at Ashley Pond on both the Trinity and Central sides of the pond with collection boxes from noon until 2:00 pm. The Hilltalkers would appreciate donations of snacks, juice boxes, handwritten cards, crossword and word search books, masks, hand sanitizer, and even board games. All donations will be delivered to the Senior Center.
In accordance with the Governor’s public health order, the Hilltalkers will be wearing masks and practicing social distancing while collecting donations.
Taylor Kanzleiter, the Service coordinator for the Hilltalkers, is hoping for a large number of donations for the senior citizens of Los Alamos and White Rock. “Any and all donations are welcome! This is an important effort that helps support our community and this service project gives the Hilltalkers an opportunity to thank our senior citizens for their support for speech and debate,” stated Kanzleiter.
For those who would like to donate but cannot deliver items to Ashley Pond Saturday please contact Taylor Kanzleiter at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a time to drop off donations.
