Los Alamos residents Dan McCarn and Kristin Foree Tobias have announced a peaceful protest beginning at noon at the park next to Fuller Lodge and moving on to Ashley Pond Park.

In a letter to Los Alamos Police Department posted on social media Saturday, McCarn said he and Foree Tobias will be riding two “quite tall” horse, one black and one white.

“The current plan is to have a peaceful demonstration between noon and 1:00pm on Sunday. The focus, of course, is about racism and George Floyd’s death,” McCarn says. “I think you know me well enough to understand that the direction and purpose is NOT to create an issue with the Los Alamos Police Department. Please know that we will not demonstrate without your cooperation and understanding. Neither Kristin nor I wish to set a negative example for the children that will be participating.”

Participants are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing during the event.
