‘Betty’s Birthday Benefit’ For Local Senior Centers Continues Through June 12

Garden2 (1)The first funds raised for the Betty’s Birthday Benefit, garnered new herbs and compost for the White Rock Senior Center. The handmade wooden signs were a gift from WRSC woodcarver Frank Minshall. The Betty’s Birthday Benefit is to celebrate the original grand opening of the Betty Ehart Senior Center. The Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization, which runs the two senior centers, is asking for small birthday donations to go towards enhancing both centers. Donors are being asked to put $1 and their name in an envelope and get it to the senior centers before June 12. Funds raised will be spent at local small businesses. Some of the projects that could be funded are stain for the gazebo and planters in the Day Out patio, seeds and compost for flower beds, and bulletin boards.  Photo by Chad Lauritzen
