WILDFIRE NEWS

A new wildfire that threatened homes Saturday in the community of La Cienega near I-25 in Santa Fe County has been 100 percent contained.  New Mexico State Police conducted evacuations for nearby residents.

The fire was first reported just before 4:30 p.m. and is estimated to have burned 3 to 10 acres of private and state land.

Multiple resources fought the fire including the Santa Fe County Fire Department, USDA Forest Service and State Forestry. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
