Los Alamos Schools Credit Union has created a COVID-19 Relief Program for school district employees and their families during the upcoming three week shutdown of Los Alamos Public Schools.
CEO/President Matt Schmidt said Friday morning that the credit union will be offering 0% loans, loan payment extensions, and financial counseling for those affected by the shutdown.
“We are doing our best to let the school employees know there is help available,” Schmidt said.
Schmidt is encouraging credit union members to use the electronic services available through the website and mobile phone app.
“We are lucky to have those options in place for people who would like to use them for their safety and ours,” he said. “Meanwhile, we will remain open for our regular hours.”
