The School Counseling Department at Los Alamos High School will host Junior Parent Night on Monday, March 9 from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm in the Speech Theater.  All current juniors and their parents are invited to attend.

The presentation will focus on three key questions:

  • What are my options after high school?
  • What steps do I need to take now to get there?
  • How do I pay for it?

“The LAHS Counseling Department hosts Junior Parent Night for juniors and their parents to learn about their options after graduation,” said School Counselor Cindy Black.  “We will discuss the many pathways students may pursue, including college, technical or vocational school, a GAP year, military and job options.”

In addition, Mrs. Black, and school counselors Cristin Haake and Dawn Watkins, will discuss college searches, SAT and ACT tests, admissions, financial aid and scholarships, summer programs, dual enrollment and helpful websites. “Now is the time to start thinking about these important steps,” explained Mrs. Black. “This is an opportunity for students to see what their options are, how to achieve these goals and the financing required to get there.”
