UNM-Los Alamos (UNM-LA) will offer CE 202 Engineering Statistics and Chem 1215: General Chemistry I for STEM Majors (with a Lab) beginning February 24. These short-term courses are pre-requisites for the BS in Mechanical Engineering program, which will be offered on the UNM-LA campus later this year.

In response to an identified workforce need at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), the UNM School of Engineering plans to offer upper division courses in Mechanical Engineering on the UNM-LA campus  beginning Fall 2020, through which students may earn a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering beginning in the Fall 2020 semester.

UNM-LA currently offers an Associate of Science degree in Pre-Engineering. To meet the demand for this new initiative, UNM-LA has expanded the availability of the Pre-engineering courses which are pre-requisites for the BS program during the spring and summer semesters.
