What different and exciting speakers the League of Women Voters have on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Mesa Public Library at 11:45 a.m. for the community event, Lunch with a Leader!
Ishwari Sollohub, a concerned citizen and political activist is working to restore American democracy by working toward a 28th amendment to the US Constitution that will reverse the effects of the Supreme Court’s 2010 Citizens United. John House will do the presentation with her. They will be discussing the reasons behind the proposed 28th amendment, strategies we can pursue, and how we can help our County Council pass a Resolution.
A reminder: If the schools are closed due to snow, Lunch with a Leader will be cancelled. If there is a two hour delay, we will have the speaker but no lunches because we have to cancel lunches by 7 a.m. Often, there is a two hour delay that becomes a closure. Depending on where our speaker lives, we may have to cancel the day. It is a difficult call. An email will be sent out if the lunch event is cancelled.
