DIVERSITY WEEK NEWS

As part of Diversity Week proclaimed by the County from January 19–24 the community is invited to participate in a 6-Word Story Slam from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at  UNM-LA, Bldg 2, 4000 University Dr., Los Alamos.

How would you describe your unique and connected life in a 6-word story? The 6-word story was inspired by Ernest Hemingway taking up a bar bet to write a novel in 6 words. Hemingway’s response: “For Sale: Baby shoes, never worn.”

Besides making the telling of your journey easier, this six-word challenge helps people focus on, celebrate and hold onto the essence of their stories and see the “connectedness” of their stories with others’ stories. Join us for a night of writing and sharing! This event is for all ages. There will be food!
