Although there appears to have been just a light snow overnight Thursday, ice seems to be what prompted a two-hour delay Friday morning for Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos Public Schools and the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos.

Los Alamos County Streets & Traffic Divisions staff have been working overnight clearing snow and sanding icy areas. Just half an inch of snow is being reported with possibility of another half inch later in the day.

Los Alamos County Public Works Director Ann Laurent said this morning that crews have not encountered any issues but cautioned drivers to be cautious and watch for slick spots.
