Chartwells K12 Class Act program is one of the company’s greatest opportunities we have to shine the spotlight on individuals who are going above and beyond to serve up happy and healthy to students every day. In 2019, we recognized hundreds of associates as Class Act winners, finalists and nominees and I know these efforts are only a small part of what each of you do in your schools.

West Region: Patrick Jaramillo, Kitchen Lead, Los Alamos Public Schools, NM

“Patrick has been instrumental in the transition of his school, Aspen Elementary, to a Zero Waste Cafeteria. In addition, before Patrick took the helm, the school had not used their kitchen to produce meals for students but now all food sold at Aspen is produced in their kitchen. These are just a few of Patrick’s many recent accomplishments. He took the lead on the school’s turkey luncheon and their special Taste of Aspen event. In addition, Patrick takes great pride in assisting with every student’s culinary exploration and regularly introduces new fruits and vegetables as choices on the school’s low-rise salad bar which has become a shining star of the program.”

Patrick serves as Kitchen Manager for Aspen Elementary. He has been with Chartwells K12 for over a year and a half, starting as our truck driver and transitioning to Kitchen Manager over this past summer with the Free Summer Lunch Program.  This is the district’s first winner for the Chartwells K12 “Class Act” program.
