EUROPE 2020 NEWS

Still looking for holiday gifts? Like to think global and buy local? Want to support teens?

Europe 2020, seniors who will travel on an educational tour after graduation, are having their Coffee, Cookie, Crafts Sales every day this week.

Stop by Enterprise Bank on Tuesday 12-5pm or Century Bank on Wednesday 12-5pm and Thursday 12-5pm. Enjoy a free cup of coffee and support Los Alamos graduating seniors on their tour of France, Germany, and the Alps.

They will be selling their well-loved coffee, along with holiday cookies and crafts. Coffee is $14 for a 10 oz. bag, whole bean or ground, in French Roast, Dark Roast, Medium Roast, and Decaf.  The coffee is fresh-roasted, Fair Trade, and organic with an artistic label drawn by a Europe 2020 traveler, Elektra Caffrey.

Thank you to everyone who has already purchased Europe 2020 coffee.  Travelers have already sold over 400 bags of coffee individually and at Breakfast with Santa during Winterfest weekend.

Europe 2020 group is 29 amazing high school seniors who are active in our community as leaders, athletes, scholars, artists, actors, church members, volunteers. They will learn about historic sights and global issues as they tour with local teacher, Lynn Ovaska, chaperones, and EF tour guides. As with the past eight summers, the goal of Europe 2020 is to expand the global-mindedness of Los Alamos’ young adults before they head off to college. Europe 2020 is a tour of Paris, the Alps, Munich, and Vienna.

Money earned from this week’s Coffee, Cookie, and Craft Sales helps off-set some of the tour costs for seeing some of Europe’s most famous sites including: Louvre, Versailles, Neuschwanstein Castle, Dachau Concentration Camp, and Schönbrunn Palace.

Stop by the lobby at Enterprise this Tuesday and Century Bank this Wednesday or Thursday afternoon to make these graduating seniors day by buying some of their coffee, cookies, or crafts.

If you cannot make it but would like to purchase coffee, please contact Lynn Ovaska at lynnovaska@gmail.com  Or feel free to make a direct donation to group. Checks can be made payable to Europe 2020.
