The Los Alamos Band Boosters is hosting the Jingle Bell Rock & Roll Run on Sunday, Dec. 15 to raise money for the LAHS band program and the LAMS Music Program. The fun run includes a 5K and a kids 1 mile run for age 13 and under.
The run is modeled after the popular Rock and Roll marathons by featuring live music along the routes. Students from the Los Alamos High School and Middle School Bands will be playing holiday tunes for the runners. The 5k will start at 2:00 pm and the kids 1 mile will start at 2:45 pm at the Los Alamos Middle School. Registration, bib pickup and payment (by cash or check only) starts at 1pm.
Prizes will be awarded for the top three male and female finishers in the 5k and a holiday treat will be given to those who complete the mile. Chocolate snacks will be served following the run. Costs are $35 for the 5K and $15 for the mile.
This year there will be a team option for the 5k. Each runner on the team will run the 5k course and the team with the lowest cumulative time receives a prize. Cost is $150 per team of five runners.
