Congressional Candidate John Blair To Speak At Monday’s Voices Of Los Alamos

The speaker for Monday’s Voices of Los Alamos John Blair, former Deputy Secretary of State and not Taos City Councilor Darien Fernandez as previously announced.

Blair will discuss Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver’s advocacy for voting rights and in particular her push for open primaries. Among other topics related to New Mexico’s unique voting policies, Blair is expected to present some issues that VOLA could could support, like mail-in ballots.

Blair served in the Obama Administration in the Department of the Interior as director of Intergovernmental and External Affairs. He also has worked for now-U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich when Heinrich was serving in the U.S. House; former Senator U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman; former state Supreme Court Justice Edward Chávez; and state Attorney General Hector Balderas when Balderas was state auditor.
