Join PEEC For A Full Moon Hike And Potluck Dinner Wednesday

Join the Pajarito Environmental Education Center, astrophysicist Galen Gisler and avid hiker Jean Dewart of the Los Alamos Mountaineers for a full moon night hike and fun potluck dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 5:30 – 9 p.m. Pre-registration is required for this outing.

Participants will meet at the Los Alamos Nature Center at 5:30 p.m. for a potluck dinner. PEEC will provide water, cups, plates and utensils. Attendees should bring a dish to share. At about 6:30 p.m., the group will carpool to a trailhead for a short, easy night hike to view the full moon and night sky. The hike will be about 2 miles, round-trip. The group will finish hiking by about 8:30 p.m. and return to the nature center.

Hikers should dress for the weather, wear layers and bring a hat and gloves. Participants should also bring a headlamp or flashlight (red lights are preferred for better star viewing).

Register at peecnature.org for this hike. Admission is $8 per family or $4 per person for PEEC and Los Alamos Mountaineers members and $10 per family and $5 per person for non-members.
