CHAMBER NEWS
The Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the new location of the Bradbury Science Museum Assocation’s Gadgets Muesum Shop with a ribbon cutting on Thursday, October 10 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. The new location is inside the Bradbusry Science Museum, located at 1350 Central Avenue, in the Defense Gallery.
The new Gadgets Muesum Shop was made possible through the generous support of Kent and Roger Waterman, in memory of their parent’s Robert and Alice Waterman. The Watermans moved to Los Alamos in 1947 when Bob was hired by the Atomic Energy Commission as a security guard. The couple became an integral part of the community and they launched a business that moved, managed and built many area properties, including the Bradbury Science Museum. The proceeds from the museum shop support the efforts of the Bradbury Assocation to promote Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) activities in northern New Mexico.
The vision of the Bradbury Science Museum Association (BSMA) is to support the Bradbury Science Museum’s (BSM) educational mission as its official nonprofit partner, operating under the IRC 501(c) 3 as a tax exempt organization. The BSMA promotes STEM learning and scientific literacy for people of all ages through workshops, field trips, special events and support for museum and community educators.
Ribbon cuttings are a benefit of being a Los Alamos Chamber Member. For more information about Chamber membership, please visit losalamoschamber.com or call Ryn Herrmann at (505) 661-4807.
