FBI Arrests Santa Fe Man For Three Bank Robberies Committed Last Month

Lester Padilla, 46, of Santa Fe, was arrested today (10/2/2019) on a federal criminal complaint charging him with three bank robberies committed last month.

The FBI with the assistance of the Española Police Department arrested Padilla in Santa Fe.

Padilla is charged with robbing Wells Fargo, 545 W. Cordova Road, Santa Fe, on Sept. 26, 2019; Wells Fargo, 502 North Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, on Sept. 24, 2019; and Wells Fargo, 645 N. Riverside Dr., in Española, on Sept. 9, 2019.

Padilla is expected to have an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Thursday.

No further information will be released until after Padilla’s court appearance.

Charges in criminal complaints are only accusations. The public is reminded that all defendants are considered innocent unless convicted in a court of law.
