LOS ALAMOS MAINSTREET NEWS

Los Alamos MainStreet announced today that Christina McCormick has been selected as Community & Marketing Manager of projectY cowork Los Alamos.

As Community & Marketing Manager, McCormick will oversee day-to-day management of projectY cowork, the downtown coworking space that strengthens the local economy by providing convenient and affordable work spaces for entrepreneurs, remote workers, freelancers, trailing partners to those working at the national lab, and others.

Previously, McCormick taught career explorations, financial literacy and work study classes at Los Alamos High School (LAHS). She grew up in Los Alamos and graduated from LAHS and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Small Business and Entrepreneurship from New Mexico State University.

“Christina has a passion for small business and helping others, and we are so excited to have her join the team,” said Lauren McDaniel, director of Los Alamos MainStreet. “We look forward to continuing to provide an alternative work, meeting and event space in our community through project cowork, as well as offering entrepreneurial resources and workshops.”

Since its inception in June 2016, projectY cowork has hosted hundreds of entrepreneurial events attracting individuals from across Northern New Mexico. It will continue to host its Business Basics series this Fall and Winter, and relaunch a networking event for new community members on a quarterly basis, beginning Monday, Oct. 21. Interested participants should meet at projectY cowork at 5:15 p.m.; attendees’ first drink at Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op will be courtesy of projectY.
