Gregory Barthell, 57, of Los Alamos, waived his preliminary hearing Friday in Los Alamos Magistrate Court on a charge of criminal sexual contact with a male client of his massage business.
Barthell was arrested in May by Los Alamos Police Department and has been free on his own recognizance under pretrial services.
Court documents filed by Det. Matthew Lyon allege that Barthell “unlawfully and intentionally touched or applied force without consent to the unclothed intimate parts of the male client by the use of force or coercion which resulted in personal injury”
According to the statement of probable cause filed by Lyon, the incident allegedly occurred when the male visited Barthell’s place of business Sept. 27, 2018 for a massage.
The charge will be filed in First Judicial District Court.
