Amanda Barry, with the Los Alamos National Laboratory’s Bioenergy and Biome Sciences group, will relay the process of how algae are converted into biofuels from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Bradbury Science Museum. In addition to examples of algae growing on petri dishes and in solution, ping pong balls will help demonstrate how scientists modify the DNA of the individual cells to make them more productive. Coloring books on the subject are also available to younger visitors. Join us for something the whole family can enjoy. Photo Courtesy LANL
