See some of the special tricks and effects that the Los Alamos Nature Center’s planetarium projector can generate this Friday, Aug. 30. Galen Gisler will explore some of the many special effects PEEC’s astronomers don’t always get a chance to show during their regular talks and night sky shows. The audience will see effects like time-lapse trails, flying outside our galaxy and time travel. Come explore all of these and more at this show, which begins at 7 p.m.

In addition to this program, the nature center will premiere the full-dome film “Superpower Dogs” on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 2 p.m. Local sponsor Pet Pangaea LLC is bringing this new film to Los Alamos. In this film, audience members will discover the inspiring true story of the world’s most extraordinary dogs and the remarkable science behind their life-saving superpowers. The movie is narrated by Chris Evans.

Seating is limited for both of these events, so please call the nature center at 505-662-0460 or stop by to reserve your tickets. Admission to both programs is $6 for adults and $4 for children. Events in the planetarium are not recommended for children under age 4.
