SUMMER CONCERT SERIES NEWS
The Los Alamos County Secret City Summer Concert Series features Last to Know Friday night at the Ashley Pond Pavilion.
Based in Taos, Last to Know is a seven-piece band blending the heartiest world rhythms with jam-band passion, while muddying the lines between Americana roots music, country, disco, funk and bluegrass.
They have played the Main Stage at the annual Taos Solar Music Festival – a stage graced by Los Lobos, Michael Franti and Spearhead, String Cheese Incident, Richard Thompson, New Monsoon, Michelle Shocked, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Harry Belafonte and Leo Kottke, among others.
The band has performed at several other festivals including Silverton Jamboree, Crestone Music Festival, Alibi Spring Crawl in downtown Albuquerque, the Santa Fe Thirsty Ear Festival and the Dreamtime Festival. Last to Know is: Curt West on bass, Scott Barady on percussion, Howie Roemer on keyboards, Dan Irion on mandolin, fiddle and vocals, Randy Morris on drums, banjo and vocals, Marisa Ireland on vocals and guitar and Tom Pryor on guitar and pedal steel.
Friday’s Opening Band features The Boomroots Collective. The Boomroots Collective is a group of musicians linking Hip Hop and reggae together in seamless flavor. The Collective is a community of conscious artists bringing a unique mix of two Genres for one reason, the love of music.
The Boomroots Collective brings high-level progressive reggae and hip-hop music, which has been described as “Jamaican funk with New Mexico Soul”.
The Student Opening Performance will feature the Los Alamos High School Marching Band. Friday’s concert is sponsored by Toyota of Santa Fe and Rolling Still Distillery Bros.
“We are thrilled to bring these phenomenally talented bands to Los Alamos for their debut performance with the 2019 Los Alamos Summer Concert Series,” Sancre Productions spokeswoman Monica Griego said.
As its 14th concert in the Series, the Sancre Productions team is working in tandem with various Los Alamos County Departments to ensure public safety, ADA accommodations, free parking and shuttle services and a diverse offering of Food Truck Vendors. The Youth Performance featuring the Los Alamos High School Marching Band starts at 6 p.m. The Boomroots Collective performs at 6:30 p.m. and The Last To Know Band performs at 8 p.m. The New Mexico Craft Distillery Garden will offer craft cocktails and beer from Rolling Still Distillery Bros., Bathtub Row Brewing Co-Op and Santa Fe Brewing Company.
