Enjoy an evening of family fun at the Los Alamos Nature Center on Tuesday, Aug. 13. The night will kick off with a Family Star Party, sponsored by New Mexico Bank & Trust at 5:30 p.m. Then, families can join Mesa Public Library’s Melissa Mackey at Family Night, Sponsored by Kiwanis Club from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Both events are free to attend and no registration is required.
At the Family Star Party, a PEEC educator will explore space in an informal setting and help families learn about our planets, constellations and more. Children can look at the stars and ask questions throughout the event. At Family Night, participants will gather around a campfire (weather permitting), roast marshmallows and enjoy songs, games or crafts with Mackey. Parents are required to stay with their children at both programs.
Family Star Parties and Family Nights take place on the second Tuesday of every month and are made possible by PEEC’s sponsors New Mexico Bank & Trust and Kiwanis Club. The Los Alamos Nature Center is open until 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, so families are welcome to come before the programs or stay later to explore the center.
