LAPS Announces Informational Meeting For Prospective School Board Candidates

In the Nov. 5 election in Los Alamos, there will be three Los Alamos Public Schools Board seats on the ballot:

  • District 3 (Aspen Elementary), Position 3 Board Member;
  • District 4 (Barranca Elementary and Los Alamos Middle School), Position 4 Board Member;
  • and District 5 (Mountain Elementary and Los Alamos High School), Position 5 Board Member.

All positions are four-year terms.

If you are interested in running for a seat on the School Board, you are invited to an informal meeting on Friday, Aug. 23 from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the LAPS School Board Room. Please bring your lunch and a refillable water bottle.

Board President Ellen Ben-Naim and Supt. Kurt Steinhaus will share information about serving as a school board member. There will also be time for a Q&A.

Candidate filing day for the Los Alamos Public School District is Aug. 27 at the Municipal Building from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. in Room 200. For more information about filing day, contact the Los Alamos County Clerk’s office at 505.662.8010 or clerks@lacnm.us.
